Pediatric Occupational Therapy
How do we get started?
A brief, informal conversation between you and our therapist during which you share your needs and concerns. We can discuss if or how OT intervention might be beneficial for your child and family. Call or email to schedule an initial consultation today!
An initial evaluation will be conducted to identify your child's strengths and areas of need. This typically includes skilled observations (possibly in multiple settings), informal skills assessment, standardized testing, parent/caretaker interview and/or questionnaires. A written report is generated describing and interpreting assessment results, which guides goal and service recommendations.
Therapy sessions, including frequency, are driven by the goals generated through the evaluation process. Each session is uniquely tailored to the needs and interests of your child. This can also include collaboration with you, other caregivers or educational teams to encourage growth across environments. Therapy can take place in a variety of settings.
